We've dissected it, put it under a microscope 🔬 tried to figure out how it fits into the whole Buddhist puzzle, and explored how it's broken down into the 4 establishments.
In the first two classes, we went through mindfulness of the Body and mindfulness of Feelings (how the mind, in Buddhist psychology, is seen as a base sense, Reader 🤯).
This week, it's the turn of the third pillar: Mindfulness of Mind.
The shift from mindfulness of the Body to mindfulness of Sensations, and then to mindfulness of Mind, represents a gradual progression towards increasingly subtle objects of meditation.
It's like going from black and white TV to 4K!
There's another shift that happens here: moving from what is experienced to how it is being experienced.
Your state of mind is the underlying current of your experience at this moment, Reader. Mindfulness of Mind brings attention to this underlying current.
On Friday, we'll explore the RAIN framework, an easy-to-remember acronym that can help us work with difficult emotions.
It's not too late to join us for the last 2 sessions!
